ABOUT

I have always had an interest in making art and in recent years  I have had more time to focus on creating, learning new skills and developing my work . I tend to paint in oils and acrylics and have more recently started sculpting in clay and Plaster of Paris.  Much of my  inspiration comes from nature and my current work is my attempt to capture the open spaces, moorland and woodlands that are synonymous with where I live in North West England.  I travel quite a lot now throughout the UK and I am keen to try to capture the diversity and beauty of the places and landscapes I've visited.

Whilst I am mostly self-taught, I have studied Art and more recently completed a course in clay sculpting and pottery making and I take influence and learn from other artists both contemporary and historical.

I have created this online gallery as a place to share a selection of my artwork and maybe some things of interest about me and the creative art processes through the blog.
